Wells Cathedral School is deeply rooted in the beautiful cathedral city of Wells surrounded by the Mendips and the Somerset Levels.  The School buildings spread across Wells and date back to medieval times through to the Georgian boarding houses and up to the 21st century, Cedars Hall, the school’s performance hall built in 2016.
Vicars’ Close built in the 1340’s, pictured above, is reputed to be the oldest continuously inhabited street in Europe. The School was housed in number 14 during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, and today it occupies two properties in the close.

The Close is a place very familiar with the Choristers too who process up and down it daily, sometimes several times and the whole school who walk through the close on their way to Wells Cathedral for their weekly service.
