A-Level Exam Results 2022: The Success Stories

A-level results day 2022 sees the first set of results awarded to pupils since the pandemic took hold back in 2020. On this exciting day for schools across the country, we round up some of the success stories.
This year, the proportion of students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland receiving top grades was 36.5%, higher than in 2019 when it was 25.4%, the last time exams were sat.
Around one in seven entries (14.6%) were awarded an A*, down from nearly one in five in 2021 (19.1%), but again higher than the 2019 figure of 7.7%.
