Barbie is an ally of the LGBTQ community and we love it
Barbie and Mattel have been killin’ the representation game recently with their Sheroes line of dolls, but now she’s come out in support of marriage equality and we’re all about it.
The official Barbie Style Instagram recently posted a photo series of Barbie hanging out with a doll version of Aimee Song, a popular fashion blogger from L.A. In the photos, Barbie and Song wear doll-sized versions of Song’s “Love Wins” shirt, which Song created in support of the LGBTQ community last summer.

“Proud to wear this ‘Love Wins’ shirt with @songofstyle!” reads the caption on Barbie’s post. The human-sized shirts are available on the Two Songs website, which is a collection Song started with her sister Dani. Half of the proceeds from the shirt go directly to The Trevor Project, which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention support for LGBTQ youth.
