Become a Ski Instructor on Your Gap Year
Kasper secured a place for his dream education after taking two gap years as a ski instructor with Snowminds.
The admission requirement for Kaspar’s chosen University course was to have A+ on almost all subjects, but the work experience, language skills, and personal development Kasper gained on his winter seasons in Canada and Austria became the ticket for his dream education.Â
When Kasper graduated from high school he felt, like many others, that he needed a break from school and decided to take two gap years. He knew he wanted to improve his skiing and discover a new continent, so he packed his things and flew over the Atlantic ocean to experience a winter ski season in Canada.
In Canada, Kasper worked in a restaurant with 240 coworkers from 35 different countries. Here he learnt a huge amount about about different cultures, languages and people. When he returned home from the adventure in Canada, he decided to become a ski instructor on a Snowminds course in Austria.  This season’s Snowminds has 900+ instructors in 6 different continents
Together with 200+ other young people, he went to Austria with the ambition to pass the Austrian ski instructor training, and a few weeks later he was ready to teach his first group ? speaking German. This was a bit daunting at first, but once he got into the swing of things…it was great fun!
After a season as a ski instructor in Austria, Kasper was ready to get back to school. And what was supposed to be two fu...
