Anticipation is in the air at Bedford School, an all-boys independent school, as Old Bedfordian Fraser Dingwall, who attended the school from 2013 to 2017, has secured a position in the starting lineup for England in the upcoming Six Nations 2024 opening match against Italy this weekend.
England head coach Steve Borthwick made the announcement, marking Fraser as the school’s twentieth international rugby player, joining the ranks of esteemed Old Bedfordians like Budge Rogers, Andy Gomarsall, and Martin Bayfield.
Fraser started at Bedford School on a sports scholarship in 2013 at the age of 14 when his coach at the Northampton Saints Academy suggested that a school advanced in rugby would help nurture Fraser?s natural talent and passion for the game. Fraser explained, ?I don?t think I would be where I am today if I did not have the school circuit and dedicated support. I 100% believe that the four years I spent at Bedford School were a massive contributor to my career. The scholarship gave me the opportunity to be there; it was probably the best thing that ever happened to me?.
