Creating a sense of community enhances the boarding experience for children, says Alex Osiatynski, Headmaster of Bilton Grange Prep
At Bilton Grange Prep we are always looking for new ways to enhance the boarding experience and give our children extra-special memories from their time here.
One way in which we have achieved this is through our activity provision. We try to ensure that we have as broad and as exciting a ?menu? as possible, and have introduced horse riding, Zumba classes and robotics to our extra-curricular activities ? one of our most successful additions has been scouting and guiding.

We have captured the imagination of many of our boarders, including those from other countries and cultures, and have encouraged many day children to become flexi-boarders. We have also introduced themed boarding weekends such as our A Knight to Remember weekend, where children enjoyed ?junk jousting? and a visit to the historic Warwick Castle. Dining by candlelight
In my second year as Headmaster, I started arranging formal candlelit dinners for our boarders, for we?re blessed with a set of rather magnificent candelabra! The dinner takes place in our wonderful, Hogwarts-esque dining room, which, with the candles ablaze, really transports you to another time and place. We also encourage the children to dress up.
