A visually-impaired pupil at The Paragon School, Bath is attempting 100 sports in 100 days, to support her aspiration of joining the Paralympic skiing team
Year Five pupil from The Paragon School, Hester, has set herself the remarkable challenge of attempting 100 sports in 100 days, in the hope of raising funds to support her Paralympic dream.
Despite being severely visually-impaired, Hester took up competitive ski racing three years ago and has proven to be incredibly talented in the sport. She’s now looking to raise funds to take her aspirations one step further.
Hester is renowned for not letting her blindness hold her back, and instead relishes the challenge of matching and often exceeding her sighted classmates. As a member of the “Outspan Rebels”, a visually impaired ski team, and coached by Olympic Gold medalist, Charlotte Evans, her dream is to join the GB Paralympic ski team once she is old enough. But this requires funding, and Hester not only needs to cover the costs for herself, but also a sighted guide who can help her down the slopes using radio speaker headsets to communicate.
