Suffice to say, cricketer Joe Root has proven his worth in his new role as England Captain having had a remarkable ten months in charge of the English cricket team.
Among his recent successes include his performance against South Africa at Lord’s, in which he became the highest scoring England player to score a Test century in their first match as captain. Not to mention his appearance at the fifth One Day International of the series in September 2017, in which he became the third-fastest batman to score 4,000 runs in terms of number of innings. Now the no.2 ranked batsman in Test cricket, more great things are expected from the sporting star as England play Australia in the first test of the Ashes over the next few days.
