At our awards ceremony on Tuesday evening, Epsom College was named Independent School of the Year 2022! Here, we share their winning entry into the student wellbeing category that helped them secure the overall title
The winners of Independent Schools of the Year 2022 were been announced at a glittering ceremony held at the Royal Thames Yacht Club in London on Tuesday 11th October. More than 200 guests from 90 independent schools across the country attended the event and applauded winners including Charterhouse, Dulwich College and the big winner Epsom College. When receiving the award, head of Epsom College Emma Pattison said: “Epsom College will really enjoy being the Independent School of the Year this year! We are really proud to belong to a sector brimming with talent, energy and potential for what might prove a challenging decade ahead. I’m proud that we are all here to support our collective effort and to support each other.”

In September 2021, Epsom College was awarded ‘gold’ for its “outstanding whole-school approach to the mental health and wellbeing of its pupils, staff and wider community”.
The award, given by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, has been entered by more than 1,000 schools. Epsom is one of just four UK boarding schools to achieve gold status.
