Ever wondered what’s going down at Battersea Power Station"
Yep, us too. And this Bank Holiday weekend, the whole family can pop along to find out?
From Saturday 27 to Monday 29 May, Battersea Power Station will be throwing open its doors to the public, welcoming families of all ages to give them a peek of what’s happening there, with a host of pop-up food and drink stalls and children’s entertainment to enjoy, too.
The Power Station, built in the 1930s but which has stood empty since 1983, now houses the new Circus West Village leisure development, and this weekend it will host everything from historical walks to face painting, pop-up gin bars to dance workshops.
There will be free face painting for the kids
From 12pm to 4pm each day there will be sweet and savoury food trucks ? think buttermilk fried chicken and confit duck bundled in a brioche bun from the Barnyard Birds, and gourmet burgers, sausages and steak sandwiches from The Butcher & Grill. Little ones can enjoy free floral face painting on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 (11am to 3pm), while Folk Dance Remixed will also be there, hosting a series of free workshops and performances incorporating traditional folk and hip-hop dancing to a live soundtrack of fiddle and beat boxing ? essentially street dance like you’ve never seen it before?
In the meantime, while the children play, the adults can enjoy a tipple or two at the Dodd’s Gin and Ben’s Canteen pop-up riverside garden.
