Following in family footsteps
Benjamin Ingram-Moore, 16, is the grandson of Captain Sir Tom Moore who raised more than £38m for NHS charities during the pandemic. The Bedford School pupil?s work on his grandfather?s fundraiser caught the judges? attention in the rising star category of our awards.
What year are you in"
I am now going into year 12. I have been at Bedford School since year three and it?s been amazing to go through my whole educational journey here. I picked up my GCSE results in August and I?m really happy with my grades; two 9s, one 8, five 7s and two 6s.
What did you do instead of study leave last term"
Most of my time was spent liaising with the media, raising as much money as we could, carrying out live interviews and keeping up with Captain Tom?s social media. It was a great experience. We felt a responsibility to keep going to where we are today. What A-levels are you taking"

Tell us how Captain Tom?s challenge came about"
We, like every other family in lockdown, were struggling. Grandad had been walking up and down the garden as rehab since breaking his hip. My dad jokingly said he would give him £1 for every lap until his 100th birthday and mum suggested starting a JustGiving page to raise £1,000 for the Covid fund.
