After being blacklisted by Hollywood for a misjudged tweet, former Glee actress Nicole Crowther visited Heathfield School to discuss the pitfalls of social media
Heathfield School in Ascot took an innovative approach to educating pupils about the pitfalls of social media, by inviting Nicole Crowther ? a former extra in the TV series, Glee ? to discuss her experience at the centre of a social media storm back in 2011.
An aspiring actress living in California, Nicole had landed a role as an extra in the hit TV series, Glee. Her future in Hollywood looked promising, until one day she speculated a major plot twist of the show’s series finale via Twitter.
No looking back
When the producer of the show publicly tweeted a reprimand and confirmed her speculation was true, what followed was a torrent of online abuse directed at the young actress. Now blacklisted and vilified in Hollywood, Nicole’s acting career came to an end and she now works for her family’s roofing business.
