GCSE Exam Results 2021
GCSE students have received another set of record grades in the second year of Covid disruption to exams and in England, independent schools had biggest increase in top grades – 61.2 per cent of results grade 7/A, compared with 26.1 per cent in comprehensives, 28.1 per cent in academies.

Rydal’s Penrhos students secure highest in the school?s history

Rydal Penrhos in North Wales is thrilled to announce that 68.7 per cent of GCSE candidates secured A*-A or 9-7 grades, which is the highest in the school?s history and represents an increase of 6.6% from the previous year. It is also 38.7 per cent higher than the national average for A*-A (9-7), which stands at 30 per cent. The number of pupils securing pass rates from A*-C or 9-4 was 92.7 per cent ? 13.1 per cent higher than the national average of 79.1 per cent. 51.7 per cent of pupils attained A* grades from their WJEC Welsh Board assessments as a result of their incredible efforts. Among the best performing subjects were Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Business, Geography, Engineering, Additional Mathematics and History.
