Sandroyd Prep School is thriving! We are a wonderfully happy school that offers the best of the traditional with new initiatives ? to offer a modern, vibrant and life-enhancing school experience. We believe childhood should be relished, enjoyed and remembered fondly, so our children?s busy school day is complimented with some serious play in 500 acres of outstanding grounds.
Academic rigour is central to a Sandroyd education and our new timetable, with lessons taking place in the mornings only enhances this further. Last year our CAT scores improved by an average of 4 points per child and 25% of our Year 8 leavers being awarded a scholarship. We also achieved excellent Common Entrance results with 45% of grades at A or above. With lessons in the morning, this leaves the afternoons for pupils to develop their character. Central to this is our extra curricula programme of sports, The Arts and our new Strive programme. All pupils play sport every day and have four ?Strive? sessions a week. Strive is designed to develop pupils? emotional intelligence and establish character traits of confidence and self esteem. Pupil feedback from this has been superb.
