The Royal Hospital School was founded in 1712 in Greenwich, London, to educate the sons of seafarers for a life in the Navy.
As a result of its long association with the sea, the school has unrivalled provisions for sailing and provides an elite programme through its Sailing Academy.
All pupils learn to sail in Year Seven.
The school was announced as an Apple Regional Training Centre in 2016 as a result of its successful mobile learning programme. The Royal Hospital School was rated excellent in all areas in its most recent ISI inspection report.
