Beechwood Park School, a prep day and boarding school located in Hertfordshire, won Independent School of the Year for Healthy Eating at our Independent School of the Year Awards 2021. Here?s how they came out on top out of over 700 entrants.
Food is integral to Beechwood Park School life, going beyond “just” an understanding of the importance of healthy, balanced food choices; it also includes the development of children’s palates, experiences and culinary lexicons.
Beechwood Catering Department, in keeping with the School Mission to Nurture, Engage and Inspire, provides pupils, staff and visitors with freshly-prepared, nutritious and creative dishes, ensuring everyone fuels their day and develops lifelong positive eating habits. They extend pupils’ gastronomic understanding, through engaging, interactive themed meals, experiences,

tastings and quizzes, such as “Meat Free Mondays”, “Healthy Eating Weeks” and the recent Allergen Quiz.
