How Covid-19 has affected school transfers in 2020/21
Interview with Sadia Ayub, Director of Eaton Tutors, originally featured in Independent School Parent Summer and Autumn magazines.
We meet, socially distanced of course, in a café in Windsor as Autumn is setting in. Sadia Ayub is a passionate woman who has been helping students prepare for Common Entrance Exams and GCSEs for over a decade. Her company, Eaton Tutors, has grown considerably from its ?elite and by referrals only? origins, though it is obvious from everything she says that she has changed little in the way she supports her pupils.
As one of the few organisations that offers ISEE and IB entrance exam support (as well as ISEB), we felt Sadia would be a great person to speak to about the rumours we are hearing of an increase in school transfers since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis. Have you noticed much movement in student location since the beginning of the academic year"
Yes, much more than I had initially thought, and from many different perspectives. Not surprisingly, I have some clients who have put off moving abroad for work for the time being and are looking to prepare their children for ISEE and IB entrance exams for the UK based American Schools and International Schools, I was anticipating this, but what I had not anticipated, was the number of parents I am meeting who have decided to temporarily move out of London (or other high R rate areas); parents who are thinking of, or are currently, moving their children to other preparatory schools; ...
