How Francis Holland School won The Innovation Award for an Outstanding New Initiative 2021
Francis Holland School Sloane Square, an all-girls’ school located in Central London, won The Innovation Award for Outstanding New Initiative at our Independent School of the Year Awards 2021. Here?s how they bagged the title out of over 700 entrants.
The ground-breaking Creative Enterprise programme at Francis Holland School, created by the Director of Creative Enterprise, is based upon the core principles of innovation, creativity and enterprise. FHS has a strong Christian foundation and a philanthropic ethos. Developing successful businesses is one approach; inspiring young women to set up social enterprise is another, and both initiatives have been uniquely woven into each year group’s curriculum.
In Year 7, Francis Holland School runs a creative challenge. Last year, the school challenged Professor Kneebone’s claims that children were leaving school without the requisite dexterity to sew bodies in surgery by working with an artist to produce our collaborative acrylic Butterfly Project.
