How Lathallan School Won Small Independent School of the Year 2021
Lathallan School, a Scottish co-educational day and boarding school, won Small Independent School of the Year at our Independent School of the Year Awards 2021. Here’s how they came out on top out of over 700 entrants.
Lathallan School, located in Scotland on the beautiful Aberdeenshire coastline, has 192 pupils that are immersed in a nurturing environment and exposed to unrivalled outdoor learning opportunities.
The school blends traditional values: confidence, opportunity, respect, endeavour and modesty, with a modern ethos of helping each pupil to embrace challenge and become the best they possibly can be, as both individuals and members of society.
How Lathallan School Won Small Independent School of the Year 2021
Indoor and outdoor learning Lathallan’s class size average is 12 so our teachers can offer tailored support to meet the pastoral, vocational and academic needs of each child. The impact is reflected in the school’s positive academic results year-on-year.
All of our pupils learn in the fresh air, immersed in nature, helping them to connect with others, themselves and the environment.
By committing to teaching both inside and outside the classroom, pupils understand that learning occurs everywhere, at all times. Lathallan is the only all-through school in Scotland to achieve the Silver Learning Outside of the Classroom Quality Mark and we have the highest school DofE uptake and completion rate in Scotland.
