Independent Schools Celebrate IB Results Success
Results for the International Baccalaureate exam were announced at the end of last week, and it was good news all round for hundreds of Sixth Formers across the UK
Thousands of students from UK independent schools received their results for the International Baccalaureate (IB) exam last week, and it proved to be yet another fantastic year, with university places earned and many perfect scores achieved.
With UK students receiving an average diploma score of 34.82 points (of a possible 45), and 218 students gaining a 100% perfect score, we speculate there were celebrations on mass at the weekend… So, how did some of the leading independent schools get on"
Brentwood School, Essex
Out of 28 students, six received 40 points or higher, including Annabel Griesmeyer (42 points), who is going on to study chemistry at the University of Bath, and Jiaqing Low (also 42 points), who is off to study law at London School of Economics. Karis Clifton (41 points) is heading to York for a degree in biology, while Shomik Milki is going to study Aerospace Engineering at Bristol. Karis said: ?I would recommend the IB to other pupils because of its sense of community. You?re also never bored because you got a real mix of subjects and lessons.?
Topping the table was Kristina Tovstik, who is looking forward to studying psychology at UCL, after achieving an impressive 45 points.
