Independent Schools of the Year 2021: Winners Announced!
In London on Thursday 7th October the winners of the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2021Â campaign were revealed
Head teachers, staff, parents and students across the country tuned into the Independent Schools of the Year 2021 Awards, at 3pm, to a virtual ceremony in hot anticipation of who had won a coveted award in the industry-leading event
Delivering and supporting student excellence lies at the heart of the awards campaign and despite a year which has brought untold suffering and challenges, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, the independent sector has continued to deliver an unrivalled education ensuring that student excellence remains a central goal.
This year, there were 24 categories for schools to enter which are designed to represent the breadth and diversity of student life in the independent sector: in addition to, among others, Independent School of the Year for Student Wellbeing and Independent Boarding School of the Year, there was a special award entitled, Independent School of the Year for an Outstanding Response to Covid-19 and the first ever Unsung Hero of the Year Award! The first winner of this award is Alan Atkins who has worked as Head Groundsman at Handcross Park School in West Sussex for 17 years.
