Meet the Head of Junior School at St Dunstan’s College in South-east London, Laura Whitwood.
How long have you been at the school"
This is my sixth year at St Dunstan’s College, my third year as Head of the Junior School, having been Deputy Head Pastoral for three years. It has been a hugely enjoyable and rewarding few years at the College and a great privilege to have been able to contribute to the significant developments and progress that has been made during this time.
No two days are the same and our staff and pupils thrive in the dynamic and exciting environment we create for them here at St Dunstan’s.
 Can you tell us a little bit about the history of the school"
Where do I begin"! What stands out for me is the way in which every member of our community, pupils, staff and parents, are so heavily invested in our College motto ‘Albam Exorna.’ Translated as ‘Adorn the White,’ our children arrive on their first day at St Dunstan’s with a metaphorical blank St Dunstan’s shield. However, it doesn’t stay blank for long! Our pupils decorate their shield during their time with us with moments, memories and experiences that matter to them, encapsulating their unique journey through the College. What does this mean for our pupils" They cherish what makes them ‘different?, unique and embrace any opportunity to gain a better sense of who they are and what matters to them.
