When prepping for your kid’s birthday, finding the right cake is a super important part of your party plans. But things don’t always go as expected, and one Georgia mom learned this firsthand when she was left high and dry when the birthday cake she ordered for her daughter turned out to be a bit of a buzz kill.
Kensli Davis’ favourite movie is Moana, so she asked her mom for a cake with the Disney character to celebrate her birthday. Her mother called Dairy Queen to place the order, but the shop apparently heard “marijuana” instead of “Moana,” sending their plans for a wholesome cake up in smoke. The cake she received was weed-themed, with no Moana in sight. If you’re cringing just thinking about how sad your kid would be if their birthday cake got this messed up, you may feel better knowing Kensli is 25 years old. But STILL. Her post about the shocking mishap has gone viral on Facebook, with more than 14,000 shares. “My mama called and ordered me a cake telling them how much I loved Moana. (Because really I do.) Well needless to say these people thought she said marijuana. That ice cream cake was still good though.”
