Eight-year-old Jovani’s Christmas was almost ruined when his mom’s purse, containing his Elf on the Shelf, was stolen.
“I knew I had a few things in the purse, but the most important was that stinking elf,” Jovani’s mom Lorraine told Inside Edition.
Jovani’s elf Freddie has been visiting him every Christmas since he was three and he would expect him to be in some funny location in the house on December 1st. Luckily, Santa (aka the police) came to the rescue.

Lorraine’s purse was found that day by the Prince William County Police Department, but Freddie was now evidence. So Sgt. Jonathan Perock went out and bought a new elf and took pictures of him to send to Jovani. Lorraine was able to tell her son that Freddie was on a special police mission to find her purse.
