Roald Dahl is crowned greatest storyteller of all time
The beloved children’s author beat the likes of Shakespeare, Banksy and Walt Disney to the titleÂ
Roald Dahl, the creator of classics such as James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Twits, has topped the poll of authors, photographers, songwriters and artists, in a poll by Canon UK. The legendary author beat the likes of Harry Potter creator JK Rowling, playwright William Shakespeare and even cartoonist Walt Disney, who all featured in the top 50.
The research was conducted to mark the launch of Canon’s 365 Days of Summer competition, to find a storyteller to spend a whole year identifying and living 365 new stories around the globe. It also revealed that a whopping 94% of us enjoy a good story ? with the average adult telling four stories each day through words, conversations and photos to friends, colleagues and our children.
