With 40,000 new homes, magnificent interiors and a vibrant shopping scene, Battersea Power Station is set to be one of London’s best neighbourhoods
The £9bn, 42-acre redevelopment of Battersea Power Station is one of the largest and most exciting projects that London has ever seen. The Grade-II listed landmark, which is famous around the world, is being transformed into a vibrant new neighbourhood with more than 4,000 new homes and as much shopping and eating out as the whole of Oxford Street. There?ll also be offices, parks, gardens, event spaces and a new Tube station.
The first part of the new scheme to open is Circus West Village, coming in summer 2017. A selection of independent shops, bars and restaurants is housed in the lower floors of the Circus West buildings and adjacent railway arches to the west of the site. The next area to open its doors will be the iconic Power Station building itself, meticulously restored to its former Art Deco grandeur. Inside there will be magnificent interiors housing 100 more shops and a 40,000 square foot food hall with kiosks, bars and an open kitchen. The office areas will be occupied by Apple, and there will also be a major cultural events space.
Next, to the south of the Power Station, will come Electric Boulevard. This will be home to Prospect Place, a new landmark built by the legendary architect Frank Gehry and Battersea Roof Gardens from Foster+Partners and Field Oper...
