New Head at The Oratory School
The Oratory School welcomed Dr Julian Murphy as its new Head in September. Educated at Birkbeck College and Oxford University, Dr Murphy has been Head at Loughborough Amherst for the past seven years, where he was responsible for overseeing the transition from a girls? day school to a co-educational boarding school. He increased pupil numbers by 70%, broadened the school?s extra-curricular offering and raised academic results at GCSE and A-level.

The school is characterised by relationships of trust, warmth, and respect among and between staff, pupils, and parents. This makes it a very pleasant place to work. The staff body are energetic and highly committed and the students are polite, articulate, kind, and show a genuine love for their school community.
