Think outside the lunch box
Back to school means back to making school lunches. Break out of the lunch-box rut with these tips to put new twists on old favourites!
Sandwich Makeover
Sandwiches are a staple of school lunches, but that doesn?t mean they have to be boring.
Add some fun by using a cookie cutter for fun shapes or try swapping their favourite bread for something new.
For adventurous eaters, try adding new textures or flavours, like pickles, alfalfa sprouts, or chutney. For instance, if your child loves bagels with cream cheese, add dill and apple slices or dried cranberries and slices of pear.
Or leave out the bread entirely. Spread your child?s favourite dip (like hummus) or cream cheese on a slice of ham or turkey, add shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes, and roll for a fun finger food!
