Studying religion at university involves wrestling with the enduring questions of humanity. Ideas of the sacred are at the heart of how people understand themselves and their reason for living. Even in largely secular societies, commonly held values arguably have religious origins.

While the sacred is a deeply rooted human concern, troubling events of recent decades have exposed religion?s darker side. Examples include Hindu nationalism in India, the Christian populism of US presidential candidates, and the growth of Islamist terror. So, understanding the human capacity for ?evil? is as pressing as ever, but religion can bring solace to refugees, embolden leaders and inspire artists. At King?s College London we offer a BA in religion, politics, and society that is unique in the UK.
