Who is Prince George’s new Headmaster"
As Prince George prepares to take up his place at Thomas’s Battersea this Thursday, we find out about new Headmaster, Mr Simon O’Malley
Like thousands of other children, Prince George will walk through the doors of his new school this week. The future King, who celebrated his fourth birthday on 22nd July, will be taking up a place at Thomas’s Battersea in south-west London, where the most important school rule is to “Be Kind”.
But also joining the school this year is Mr Simon O’Malley, who will take up the role as Headmaster from September 2017. O’Malley had previously held the position as Head of Wellesey House School, a co-educational Prep School in Broadstairs, Kent, for 11 years.
So, who is Simon O’Malley" Before gaining his PGCE, Simon O’Malley read English at the University of Aberdeen, after which he gained extensive experience in Prep Schools across the UK and abroad. In 1987, he became Head of English at The Banda School, Nairobi, before returning to the UK to join Newland House, Twickenham in 1994.

Three years later, he became Deputy Head of Beaudesert Park, Gloucestershire, before being appointed as Headmaster of Wellesey House in 2006.
