Lady Eleanor Holles School, an all girls’ school in Hampton, London, won the coveted title of Independent Girls’ School of the Year at our Independent School of the Year awards 2021. Here’s how they came out on top out of over 700 entrants.
Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEH) is set on 24 acres and is located just 10 miles outside of Central London. LEH is one of the oldest all-girls’ schools in the UK, founded in 1710.

Advocates for single-sex education
Lady Eleanore Holles School has been demonstrating the importance and success of single sex education for over 300 years. Hope Favours the Bold is more than just the school motto. During their time here, students acquire mental, intellectual, emotional and moral courage. LEH aims to undo the socialisation of perfection and replace it with building a sisterhood that teaches girls to be brave, and we have a supportive network which cheers them on, so many go on to achieve remarkable things.
At LEH, every subject is a ‘girls’ subject’. 80% of their A-level students take one or more science, compared to just over 20% nationally, whilst winning UK and international competitions and awards and collaborating with top universities and NASA.
