What are skills for life" This is a question that is constantly posed at prep and senior schools to ensure staff are providing pupils with the tools to succeed in a fast-changing world.
At Belmont Preparatory School, which feeds into Mill Hill School in north London, there is a holistic and comprehensive Future Skills programme. It includes four 21st century skills for life: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking; as well as three core qualities: Calmness, Compassion and Character. Together, it makes up its 7 Cs for the Future.

It teaches students how to collaborate effectively with a team and the school community. It also builds pupils? innovative and creative skills, both timeless (cooking, first aid and outdoor learning) and contemporary (robotics, videography and sustainability).
