Bedford School: Winners of Independent Boys’ School of the Year 2021

Founded in 1552 (one of the oldest boys’ schools in the UK), Bedford School is an all-boys’ school located in Bedford, composed of the Preparatory School and the Upper School.
Beginning in the reign of Edward VI, Bedford School owes its existence to the generosity of Sir William and Dame Alice Harpur. Their charitable endowment became The Harpur Trust, and their vision continues through scholarships and bursaries.
How Bedford School Won Independent Boys’ School of the Year 2021 Bedford School encourages students to contribute to wider society as well as to each other; they are taught that “arrogance is the least attractive of traits; regret the most wasted of emotions.”
The School seeks to “raise good people first and foremost; and then allow them to flourish as academics, as sportsmen, as artists and above all as themselves, in a supportive and ambitious atmosphere.”
