Summer days: good food, good drink, good clothes, good company. Get all those together in a London garden, add a blast of sunshine and you?ve got a wonderful afternoon picnic. We join Skye McAlpine, lover of food and writer of ?From My Dining Table?, Courtney Adamo, co-founder of ?Babyccino Kids?, Celia Munoz, the brains behind ?La Coqueta? and their children to see how they’d throw the ultimate midsummer garden party. Hosted in the garden of Celia?s beautiful Hampstead home, the gingham rugs were laid out and the wicker baskets were filled. The children were dressed to the nines in La Coqueta clothes and styled by Courtney. This is one of my favourite cakes – we make it at home often, partly because the recipe is delightfully foolproof. And partly because the soft yogurt sponge lends itself well to all manner of adaptations: fennel seed, raisins and candied peel in the winter, for example, or delicate flavours – like lemon and lavender – in the summer.
