Mount Kelly School makes a royal splash
Mount Kelly School, Devon was honoured to welcome HRH The Princess Royal to the opening of their brand new 50-metre swimming pool in January. The school already has a superb list of swimmers among its illustrious alumni, boasting 72 international swimmers, 17 Olympians and six Paralympians.
The new pool has now been built thanks to a grant of £706,000 from the National Lottery and Sport England. It is currently open for use by pupils, members of the local community, and swimming clubs from across the south-west as part of the ASA ?Learn to Swim? programme.
Teaching with tech at Bedford Girls’ School Bedford Girls? School has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for its innovative use of Apple technology. The school began integrating technology into teaching in 2014, and distributed iPad Minis to all pupils. This new strategy has since transformed the way the students learn, as they can each research and submit work all on one device. Headmistress, Jo MacKenzie, says: ?This title from Apple acknowledges our commitment to preparing girls for the future.?
