This year?s A-level and GCSE exam results are published on 10th and 12th August. In the first of three pieces written especially for results day, Lara Pechard, Head of St Margaret?s, Herts, has some top tips on what parents and pupils can do to alleviate the pressure and ensure they seek the right advice and support in the lead up to it
Like the year before, this year, the usual rite of passage of sitting GCSEs or A Levels and all the associated ups and downs has once again been impacted by the pandemic. Exams might not have been sat, but exam results days are looming nonetheless and at this point in time, many students will want to run away to a warm Spanish Island to escape the pressures – but of course this year, that ritual has also denied them. So, what can we do to alleviate the pressure ahead of results day and ensure we seek the right advice and support in the lead up to it"
Use the build-up to results day to gain as much support and information from your school as possible. From careers advice to university questions, gap year ideas, resetting aspirations and re-evaluating priorities ? trust your school and the systems they have put in place reach out to your school with any questions or worries as they will be best placed to reassure and advise.
