Highgate works hard to make a difference to the lives of thousands of children across London and, for the last decade, has channelled this work through our Chrysalis Partnership Programme. Chrysalis is an innovative educational model, enabling pupils in state schools across London to access Highgate?s exceptional teaching and learning. In 2017, as an extension of Chrysalis, Highgate became lead educational sponsor of LAET which provides a rigorous academic post-16 education in a borough where 52% of young people leave for post-16 education. Highgate?s academic sponsorship of LAET is vitally important, since LAET is situated in Northumberland Park, a ward in the top 2% of highest deprivation in the country. Analysis of LAET pupils? postcodes shows 60% come from the lowest of fifteen categories (?struggling estates? and ?difficult circumstances?) according to demographic segmentation tool, Acorn. Situated in the far east of the borough of Haringey, just 1% of Tottenham?s young people go to Russell Group universities, compared with 18% in the west of Haringey.
