New XLCR Awards at Spratton Hall Aim to Encourage Pupils? Community Contributions
Spratton Hall Prep School in Northamptonshire are encouraging their senior pupils to look beyond their exam results and consider their contributions to their school, community and beyond.
The Aim of XLCR
Spratton Hall Prep School have recently launched their ?XLCR? Awards. The awards aim to encourage pupils in Years 7 and 8 to embrace their classroom success and academic achievements, while considering how they can contribute to their school and local community.
Academic Excellence at Spratton Hall
Their senior pupils have an exceptional academic record, with a 100% pass rate at CE. Last year their Year 8 leavers received a record 21 scholarships. Although understandably proud of these results, they have created the awards to ensure that their older pupils broaden their focus beyond their Common Entrance and Scholarship Exams. XLCR Awards
XLCR stands for Excellence (X), Leadership (L), Community (C) and Resilience (R). Â Pupils are awarded points for every contribution they make to Spratton Hall and community life across these four categories.
These points are then converted into a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum XLCR Award on their final speech day.
The points pupils receive are logged against the four categories in a specially designed booklet, where they can easily see which XLCR areas they are naturally excelling in, and any that they may need to build upon.
