Newland House School Opens New Nursery
Following on from the success of its recently-completed Pre-Prep building, Newland House School’s Nursery opens its doors
Based within the former Pre-Prep premises in Waldegrave Park, Newland House School‘s new Nursery in Twickenham boasts spacious and stimulating classrooms with direct outdoor access.
The first intake of pupils has settled in incredibly quickly, and they are now developing an understanding of community and enjoying making new friends. The environment at the old Pre-Prep is also safe and nurturing, and children have grown in confidence.
The morning sessions at Newland House School Nursery have a gentle literacy and numeracy focus, where they use play-orientated activities to help children develop their understanding of letter sounds and counting skills. Each week, the staff introduce new phonics and explore word building, promoting learning in a quiet but enjoyable and methodical way. In numeracy, children have started to grasp the concepts of ordering numbers by size, sequencing events and associating quantity to number. This creates an ideal platform for progression into Reception.
