With the Olympics opening today, we?re celebrating the independent school alumni who are representing Team GB
Eden Cheng, 18, is a diver, who has just left Alleyn?s in south London and is one of those who has been selected for the Olympics. Also representing Team GB is Georgia Wilson, 25, an alumna of Rydal Penrhos (2007-12) who will be competing in the Para-Dressage in the Paralympics.

Aged just 18, the Olympic diver promises to make waves in Tokyo this summer. Cheng and her diving partner Lois won a silver medal in the women?s 10m synchro at the FINA Diving World Cup earlier this year. The win meant qualification for the Olympic team. ?I?ve worked hard and made sacrifices to balance my training schedule with my academic studies, from missing family events to catching up with school work poolside and on the plane to and from competitions,? says Eden. ?Representing my country has also coincided with studying for A-levels. It has been a long and challenging journey, but it seems the sacrifices made along the way have all been worthwhile. Thank you Alleyn?s for the support you have given me through all these years!? Georgia attended Rydal Penrhos from 2007-12 and is in the final stages of preparation before a tilt at international glory at the Paralympics in Tokyo, which will take place from 24 August ? 5 September.
