What It’s Like to be an International Student at the University for the Creative Arts
Eugénie Biron from France is an international student at University of Creative Arts, she tells us her experience
I remember I had to apply through UCAS, and part of the application process was to send an audition tape. The fact that I got positive feedback felt like I was going somewhere.
When I first arrived in the UK from France, it was really scary. It was a huge new experience, but UCA really is a nest for talented and artistic people and it’s been amazing to meet them.
All of the students are really close to each other and we can count on one other. I’ve really enjoyed becoming a better actor and learning how to build myself as an artist, as well as how to present myself as an artist too.
I feel like I know what I’m doing and where I’m going. I’m surrounded by loving and talented people and I feel comfortable – that’s why it feels like home.
I’m still on the journey to discovering myself but I feel like I can be my authentic self at UCA. It’s scary to leave home and study overseas but, in the end, it’s going to be one of the best things that you’ve ever done in your life.
