14 toddlers making a mess to remember
by Sabrina Garibian posted in Parenting
We've all been there. You're rushing to get dinner on the table. You realize you can no longer hear kids yelling and playing, and so you do the dreaded child hunt to find out what happened. Whether your child has painted himself with markers, eaten all the pudding, and smeared it all over his tray or made a train track out of paper towels, you know silence means disaster and you better get to cleaning up.
One time my son decided to make a mess with paper towels and hangers. He made a train track with them. Luckily it was really easy to clean up.
I've since learned that quiet is not really a good thing with little ones. If it's noisy you know they aren't getting into trouble. Legend has it a friend of a friend of a friend had a horrible experience with her kids making a mess. The mom ran downstairs to get a bottle for one child. It took her maybe two minutes. In that time the other child opened the dresser, put diaper cream on every surface imaginable, and then followed it up with baby powder, essentially changing the nursery into a white paste disaster that took days to clean up.
That must have been bad, but I vote anything is better than a child who has gotten into his diaper and decided to paint it everywhere. I'm so glad I have no experiences like that.
