I think it's safe to say plenty of Cubs fans got waayyy past third base that historic night of Nov. 2, 2016. The proof" Thirty-eight weeks after the Chicago Cubs won the world series, area hospitals are reporting a surge in births -- as well as babies with team-inspired names.
Doctors at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center said the hospital experienced a marked influx of births between July 10 and 18. In fact, the hospital has seen nearly double the normal amount of deliveries each day. This trend is expected to continue into the first couple of weeks of August. ?It depends on how you calculate full term,? Melissa Denis, vice chairwoman of obstetrics and gynecology told NBC Chicago. ?You?re looking at any time between late July and mid-August, so we?re expecting more to come.? The team's mascot, Clark the Cub, even paid a visit on Thursday to some of the World Series babies born at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. With him, he brought the World Series ring, commissioners' trophy, Cubs baby body suits, pinstripe beanies and newborn fan Cub memberships.
