Attention rookie parents: all you need to know about diapering
by McKenzie Stamper posted in Parenting
All right, new and soon-to-be parents, let's talk diapers. If you've never changed a diaper before, it's okay: don't stress! It may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but trust me, you'll get the hang of it in no time.
To help you prepare, I broke diapering into three main categories --Â preparedness, diaper stations, and deals -- to make it easier on you. After all, you're going to be very busy soon; maybe even too busy to read a blog post like this, so read while you can.
Preparedness
Realizing you're on your last diaper and haven't ordered another package is a horrible feeling. I?ve definitely had this pure-anxiety conversation in my head a few times:
"How long will this one last" Will I make it to the store without needing one" What if my baby poops on the way" How could I have forgotten!"" One way I like to stay on top of things is by always having an extra box of Pampers Swaddlers on hand, and to make sure I have a monthly subscription. Keep in mind that babies grow fast, so make sure you set aside each new box and use what you kept in stock. It doesn't help much if you're keeping an extra box of diapers that won't fit your little one!
Diaper stations
Designated diaper changing areas are absolutely key in mastering at-home diapering. I recommend keeping a station on each level of your home. It doesn?t have to be anything fancy either, you can just get a basket to keep all of your diapering item...
