As best I understand it, males past potty-training arrange their private parts in a variety of ways inside their underwear. Some tuck left, others go right, and for all I know a few out there probably point high toward the sky. It's a "whatever floats your boat" kind of thing -- but the catch is these are males no longer in danger of peeing on their own faces.
Attention parents-to-be who are having their first boy: Pay attention to the angle of his dangle -- and point it down.
It's not as obvious as it sounds when you've got a newborn screaming and wriggling through a diaper change.
You're in a rush and your only goal is to get his diaper and clothes on as fast as possible. You slip the diaper under his bum, flop the front down, and secure the straps. You maneuver one of his impossibly small outfits on then pick him up for some shushing and snuggling, perhaps even a feed. The next thing you know his clothes and you are completely soaked in baby pee -- and to add insult to this baffling injury, when you got to change him once again the diaper isn't even wet! Perhaps if you weren't in the throes of new parent exhaustion you'd be able to logically think through what the problem is. But just in case you're brain is on break I'll spell it out for you: where the penis points the urine follows, and the absorbent part of a diaper is in the crotch, not the waistband.
