High heels for babies: Fun and games or too freaky for words"

Is dressing up your cutie in baby high heels all fun and games, or is crazy to put an adult-style shoe on a little one who can't even walk yet" That's the debate currently swirling around Pee Wee Pumps -- which are heels for babies.
Sporting design names like "Diva," "Sassy," "Wild Child," and "Swanky," the baby high heels are intended for girls age 0 to 6 months. Michele Holbrook, founder of Pee Wee Pumps, went to work on the idea when she was unable to find the quality pair of baby heels she wanted for her daughter.
Many parents are loving the new accessory, but some find the item that's meant to "be your daughter?s first fashion statement" goes over the line. Thanks in part to photos that are reminiscent of boudoir sessions, the company is getting flack for sexualizing babies.
"This is horrific!" one Facebook user wrote, while another called the shoes "appalling."
I personally tend to agree with those who feel unnerved by these baby high heels, but is it possible we're overthinking it"
"You put too much thought into it and yes, it's going to become an issue, but truly in the grand scheme of things, when it all boils down to it, [the heels are] just a photo prop," founder Michele Holbrook told Today. And suddenly I'm thinking of all the portraits I've seen of baby girls and boys with cowboy boots. Some of them are dressed, others not so...
