Husband's got the flu" Let Alexa be his nurse
by Laura Falin posted in Life
I need your help. Join with me now and send good thoughts/vibes/feelings to a dear friend of mine whose husband is suffering from the man flu. Pray for her, I beg you. Wait. No. I meant pray for him. He coughed and sniffled, so obviously he's dying.
I'm not referring to the actual flu, which should be taken very seriously. I'm referring to this kind of flu. The kind that seems to send men to their beds, where they pitifully request fluids and crackers and that the heat be turned up but not too far up because after all they're feverish and also they need some more medicine but not that kind that tastes bad.
I do have some great news for you, however. After a day of ministering to her poor sick husband, my friend texted me the following last night: Yasssss! It's a beautiful time to be alive.
Let's just look at a few of these, shall we" Alexa will adjust the lights so I don't get called on my phone to come upstairs and turn them off. She'll get us more crackers so I don't need to add a grocery store run to my already long list of errands to run (because along with a sick husband, I have to pick four kids up from school and get them to various practices and rehearsals and feed them dinner and stuff).
She'll adjust the thermostat. And she'll do it repeatedly, without rolling her eyes, until he's happy. She'll put on his favorite movie or TV show, and I bet she'll suggest another show he might like to watch when that one's done. She'll order...
