The last few years have seen the rise of brand new names like Kylo, Royalty, and Reign. They're definitely unique, but not exactly every mom-to-be's cup of tea. If the new crop of names isn't leaving you feeling inspired, maybe it's time to look to the past.
Believe it or not, there was a time when perennial favorites like Sophia, Emma, Aiden and Liam weren't at the top of the baby name rankings -- you just have to go back quite a ways to find it. I did just that, digging up the list of popular baby names from 1917, exactly 100 years ago.

I must admit, I'm more partial to the girls' names than the boys' -- although Harry might make my shortlist. Florence, Rose, Marie... I just love all of those picks. And if you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary, none of them cracked the top 100 on last year's ranking.
