In about two weeks, I'll be coming to the end of my current pregnancy. I'm nearly 40 years old and have had two physically difficult pregnancies, so the birth of my son will mark the end of my maternity journey. Forever. As excited as I am to meet our little guy, knowing that I'll never be pregnant again does give me a bit of anxiety.
Are there any pregnancy memory-making activities I missed out on" Do I have time to get them done before the baby is born"
I've never been interested in the ethereal pregnancy photo shoot where I wear a floating gown like a big-bellied goddess. Other women look amazing in those pics, that it isn't me. I've also never wanted to cover my bump with papier maché or paint it with fertility-themed artwork. I'm just a simple pregnant gal, trying to stay healthy, waiting to have a baby -- all that fancy pregnancy commemoration stuff just isn't for me. Or is it"
As I get close to the final days, I wonder if I'll look back at my lack of professional pregnancy photos and pieces of art based on my stomach and feel regret. I have very few pictures of my first pregnancy and did end up wishing I had gotten in front of the camera more frequently. Because of that, I took a lot more pictures this time around. There won't be a chance for a do-over once this baby is born though, though. This pregnancy, this is it.
